Pharmacological propertie:
Semax nasal drops 1% - The original synthetic peptide preparation, which is the analogue of a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone (AKTG4-10) (methionyl-glutamyl-histidyl-phenylalanyl-prolyl-glycyl-proline) is completely devoid of hormonal activity. All the amino acids are L-shaped.

Pharmacodynamics:
Semax has an original mechanism neurospecific action on the central nervous system (CNS). The drug affects the processes associated with memory formation and learning. Semax enhances attention in training and analysis of information, improves the consolidation of the memory trace, improves adaptation to hypoxia, cerebral ischemia, anesthesia and other damaging influences. The drug is practically non-toxic in single and prolonged use. Shows no allergic, embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic properties. Has no local irritating action.

Pharmacokinetics:
Absorbed from the mucosa of the nasal cavity, while digested to 60-70% in percenatge of active substance. Semax is quickly delivered to all organs and tissues, crosses the blood-brain barrier. When being injected into the blood, Semax undergoes fairly rapid degradation and removal from the body with urine.

Indications for use:
Acute ischemic stroke.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the drug. Acute mental status disorder, accompanied by anxiety, pregnancy, lactation, history of convulsions.

Side effects:
Prolonged use may cause mild irritation of the nasal mucosa.

Dosage:
Semax applied intranasally, using a bottle sealed with a plastic cap-dropper.
Carefully cut off the tip of the pipette.
The cap should be tightly closed dropper - Fig. 2.
Turn the bottle and easily tap the bottom, wait for the liquid filled the entire space of pipette.
Remove the cap and a create light pressure on the wide part of the pipette, squeeze the required number of drops of the drug in the nasal passage.

Drug should be stored with tightly closed cap.

The volume of one drop equals to 0.05 ml (50 ml). One drop of standard solution contains 500 mg of active ingredient.

Release form:
3 ml vial, sealed with a plastic cap-dropper. Each vial with instructions for use.

Storage condition: in darkness, at a temperature not exceeding +10 ° C, avoid freezing. Keep out of reach of children.
