Benzalkonium chloride (Pharmatex) does a damaging effect on the sperm membrane (spermicidal effect), what leads to their destruction and the inability of fertilization. Complete destruction of the sperm after release into the environment with Pharmatex occurs in 20 seconds. On average, one dose of the drug is designed to neutralize the sperm contained in a single ejaculate. Therefore, the repeated sexual act requires the introduction of the new dose.
In addition to the spermicidal effects Pharmatex in laboratory testing has shown antimicrobial activity against the pathogen of gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, herpes type II, as well as against Staphylococcus aureus. The drug is inactive against mycoplasma infection, as well as maloaktiven against pathogens gardnerellezom, candidiasis, and syphilis.
How to use:
One suppositorium is inserted into the vagina for at least five minutes prior to sexual contact and remains active within four hours, or until appearance of sperm in the vagina. After sexual contact drug action ends, and repeated sexual act requires the reintroduction of a new vaginal suppositories. Candles preferably administered while in the horizontal position.
