Almagel (170ml. suspension)
The first drug antacid group, called Almagel, was developed in the late 60s of last century. The main component of the drug was aluminum hydroxide (algedrat), which later became the basis for the creation of a number of antacid drugs, manufactured in a variety of dosage forms.
Almagel has antacid, adsorbent, enveloping and gastroprotective effect. Due to the presence of D-sorbitol preparation also enhances secretion and function takes a laxative. Currently Almagel produced mainly in the form of a suspension (gel), which creates excellent conditions for the spreading of the drug on the gastric mucosa and has a longer lasting impact.
